Relationship Property Division in New Zealand Phases 1 and 2 – Research Highlights

This research project was undertaken to help meet the information needs of Te Aka Matua o te Ture | Law Commission and the family justice sector regarding the Property (Relationships) Act 1976 (PRA). Phase 1 ascertained the publics values and attitudes towards relationship property division in New Zealand and phase 2 examined the experiences of separated people in relations their post-separation relationship property division. These research highlights draw upon and further analyze the wealth of data collected in Phases 1 and 2 to produce six in-depth resources on PRA-related topics for public and professional dissemination.
