All of Us

This project involves performing, touring, and filming a professional theatrical production of “All of Us” by Rebecca Abrams, as a tool for community education and engagement with Restorative Justice.
About the project
The first phase of the project will see the performing and touring of the world première of Rebecca Abram’s play “All of Us”, which centres around a post-sentence restorative justice process. Each performance will be followed by a Q and A session with the audience, enabling engagement with the Kaupapa and concepts of Restorative Justice.
The second phase involves creating a film of the play which will be distributed to Restorative Justice providers across Aotearoa, as well as in Cape Town, South Africa, and Oxford, England, alongside a written report of the Q and A sessions we held. These resources can be used to further understanding and interaction with the concepts and practice of Restorative Justice more widely than we are able to tour the play.
The third phase will involve the writing of an academic article using the play as a case study to reflect on the use of theatre in furthering Restorative Justice community education.
